Live the emotion of sleeping into tree tents in Marche green hearth: the Gola della Rossa e Frasassi natural park. This is a ptrotected area, jewel of biodiversity with its 105 species of nesting birds, 40 species of mammals, reptiles and amphibians and 29 among more than 1250 plant species. Begin the adventure by moving slowly, we reccommend by bicyle or trekking, so you can enjoy the best of the natural park until you reach the base camp: NOMAD: our base camp is set-up from scratch everytime so we can move everywhere and ensure a unique experience ECO-CAMP: sustainability is at the center of our decisions WILD: we aim to inspire the outdoor lover through a full immersion with nature INCLUSIVE even if you are not an adventurer, experienced escorts will help you get out of your "comfort" zone. Support

A member of the Basecamp523 team will assist you 24h. You will be accompanied by certified MTB instructors who will guide you along the route. An off-road vehicle will transport everything you need including your luggages and will guarantee a pick-up service in case of need.

Starting Point

If you decide to reach the base camp by E-bike, the trip starts from Fabriano, a medieval city in the heart of the Marche Apennines. The transfer service can be organized or you can come directly to the base camp as you prefer.

Base Camp

Our base camp is designed to live an unforgettable experience and for this we offer services such as: a few hours of electricity, a mobile shower, sustainable toilet. Without forgetting, however, that resources are limited, as nature teaches us. Dinner and breakfast in the woods or with a breathtaking view of all the Marche are always included in the price.

Itinerary

Day 1 - Fabriano

Arrival in Fabriano, possibility of free parking near the historic centre. Check-in in the B&B sited in the old-town. Let yourself be inspired by our tips for self-guided visits to the city. Appointment for a welcome aperitif / dinner where you will meet the other members and the organizers. You will taste wines and local products in an eno-gastronomic tasting, thus you will have a first encounter with the flavours and aromas of the region, which you will then find along the way, right there, in the lands where they come from.

Day 2 - From Fabriano to Genga

Fabriano, the city of paper. After breakfast, you will visit the shop of the Paper Master in the historic center where you will make a sheet of paper by hands following the ancient village tradition. Packed lunch, bicycle set-up and departure for San Vittore di Genga. You will get there riding off the beaten paths, into the Parco della Gola della Rossa e Frasassi, thoruhgout abbandoned villages and ghost towns. In the afternoon you will be free to choose optional activities among: just relax at the pool, take a dip in the clear river, visit to the famous caves of Frasassi, visit to the temple of Valadier, bathing at the Terme di San Vittore or pick the adventure park. Dinner included. You will ride on gravel roads, easy single tracks and asphalt for a total of 20km.

Day 3 - From Genga to Montecarotto

From Genga you will leave for Mount Murano which is 830 meters high and from where you will enjoy breathtaking views of the entire Marche. For lunch you are awaited by Andrea, with a sweet welcome! A lunch / tasting based on farm products awaits you. You will discover and taste the honeys in many and delicious combinations. Put on your beekeeper’s clothes and handle the tools discovering all the products of the hive, in particular the royal jelly that you will pick up and take to the laboratory for extraction. At the end of this exciting experience we leave for Montecarotto, home of Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi, one of the most important Italian white wines. Dinner included Dinner included. You will ride on gravel roads, easy single tracks and asphalt for a total of 50 km.

Day 4 - From Montecarotto to San Marcello

From Montecarotto to San Marcello crossing the Verdicchio hills. In the morning you get on the saddle to ride on the gentle hills of Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi. A special white wine for its ability to improve over time and its longevity, which, with 57 top awards, ranks first by several specialized guides. Packed lunch. You arrive at the Tenuta di San Marcello. Here you will meet Giorgio who will take you through the olive trees. Giorgio will guide you in the tasting by showing you the techniques and passing on to you the secrets of this art. After tasting the oils, it’s time to taste the other products. Only one kilometre away, Massimo and Pascale will be awaiting for you. You will reach a place of rare beauty where they have been dedicating themselves to sustainable, biodynamic and biotic viticulture and hospitality in their small farmhouse / tavern for the past few years. Here a type of wine is produced in amphoras following an ancient technique already in use by the Picenes living in our area over 2,000 years ago. The dishes of the tavern are prepared using the grapes from their wine yard, with a combination of different methods from wine reduction to grape jellies. You will taste a menu in which each wine is paired with a dish. A culinary selection that combines tradition, authenticity and seasonality. Overnight in the same hosting facility. You will ride on gravel roads, easy single tracks and asphalt for a total of 20km.

Day 5 - From San Marcello to Offagna

Today is the day of the “borghi”. Let’s begin with San Marcello, a small pearl, surrounded by Verdicchio vineyards, only a few kilometers from the structure. We then go down and cross the Esino river to then enter the Land of Castles and arrive in Polverigi. The ancient castle of Polverigi built in the 11th-12th century has curtain walls. It is therefore not a real castle but a fortified village like many others in Le Marche. We head down and go back to the enchanting village of Offagna, dominated by its majestic medieval fortress which stands on a tuff cliff. Here you can spend your free time visiting museums or discovering herbs oil, but not before having checked-in the accommodations and having had a refreshing shower. Free dinner. You will ride for about 40 km on gravel roads, at times paved with a little traffic.

Day 6 - From Offagna to Sirolo

The last stop before heading to the seaside. You will reach the seaside village of Sirolo, on the slopes of Mount Conero where a well-deserved lunch awaits you. Early in the afternoon, we will go to Ancona with a transfer service after you have checked in. This time you will get on an electric scooter and set off in the company of Maria (your guide) to discover the city. Between anecdotes and stories about the history of Ancona, you will have the opportunity to get to know this city and its glorious history of the Maritime Republic from an unprecedented point of view. Along the way you will stop at the civic art gallery where with Sara you will create the “Rosso Tiziano” (red) colour following the original recipe of the Master. Here Rosso Tiziano will meet the Fabriano watermark, sealing the conclusion of this wonderful experience. Here, you will express your feelings about the trip by painting your sheet of paper that you produced in Fabriano in Rosso Tiziano. To end the day, there is nothing better that the Doric capital can offer: a panoramic aperitif / dinner at sunset in front of the ancient lighthouse! The day will end with a transfer to the accommodation in Sirolo and overnight stay. Bike itinerary is about 20 km on both gravel and asphalted roads with little traffic.

Day 7 - Free Day

Relax and enjoy the sea! Get inspired by our tips to fully enjoy this day even visiting independently the neighbouring villages and the beaches. The optional activities you can choose are: – kayak excursion to reach the beach of “Le due Sorelle” by sea – e-bike excursion on Mount Conero – horseback riding on the Conero. Lunch and dinner not included.

Day 8 - Check Out

Individual departure or possibility of extending the stay. Transfer to the Ancona airport, station, starting point included in the offer.

How can I book?

In order to confirm your booking you have to deposit 25% of the final price and finalize the remaining payment 30 days before the experience begins. Payment can be made as a transfer or by credit card through a link we will send. If you book within 30 days from the experience beginning you will be requested to pay the full amount.

We are always available, A minimum of 4 participants is required for the experience to take place.

Can I bring my own bike?

Yes, as long as it is in good condition and is suitable for the itinerary of the experience.

How can I cancel the booking and what penalties apply?

In the event of withdrawal from the travel contract, the consumer is required to pay a penalty, calculated on the basis of the number of days left before the start of the trip. The calculation of the days does not include that of withdrawal, the written communication of which must be received on a working day prior to the start of the trip:
a) withdrawal up to 31 days before the start of the trip: 10% of the total amount
b) withdrawal from 30 to 21 days before the start of the trip: 25% of the total amount
c) withdrawal from 20 to 11 days before the start of the trip: 50% of the total amount
d) withdrawal from 10 to 4 days before the start of the trip: 75% of the total amount

Surely recommend if you like to experience new things or if you are a cycling lover. Marco took us around, up and down the best places of his motherland and explained curious facts in both English and German languages. We passed through untouched wild places and forgotten villages by riding the latest e-bike on the market. We even asked for a small deviation from the original path and that was not a problem. I will definitely repeat the experience next year!
