Starting Point and How to Arrive

The tour starts from Fabriano, a city of paper in the heart of the Marche region, easily accessible by a direct train from Rome, while from Milan it is necessary to change at Ancona where you can arrive by high-speed train. The nearest airports are those of Ancona and Perugia, about 30 minutes away, but with just over two hours by car you can reach Rome and Bologna.

Day 1 Fabriano

Individual arrival in Fabriano, possibility of free parking near the historic centre.

Check-in in a structure located in the historical centre.

Let yourself be inspired by our tips for independent visits to the city.

Appointment for a welcome aperitif/dinner in which to get to know the other members of the group and the organizers.

You will taste wines and local products in a food and wine tasting, thus making a first encounter with the flavors and aromas of the region, which you will then find again along the way, right there, in the lands where they come from.

 

Day 2 from Fabriano to Genga

Fabriano, city of paper. After breakfast in the structure, you will visit the Mastro Cartaio shop in the historic center where you will make sheets of paper with your own hands, according to the ancient Fabriano tradition.

Packed lunch, bike set-up and departure for San Vittore di Genga. You will get there along gravel roads, riding off the beaten paths, into the Parco della Gola della Rossa e Frasassi, thoruhgout abbandoned villages and ghost towns.

In the afternoon, travelers will be free to choose optional activities among: relax in the structure, excursion and swim at the river, visit to the famous caves of Frasassi, visit to the temple of Valadier, swim at the Terme di San Vittore. Itinerary by bike about 20 km on gravel roads, sometimes paved and with little traffic.

 

Day 3 from Genga to Montecarotto

The morning begins with a breakfast fit for champions, the perfect start needed to face the most challenging stage of this bike trip. From Genga, the journey leads to Mount Murano. At an elevation of 830 meters, it offers breathtaking views of the entire Marche region. For lunch, a special encounter awaits with Andrea, a passionate beekeeper. The welcome at Andrea’s home is immediately sweet, featuring a lunch and tasting session with products straight from the beekeeping farm. Here, you’ll enjoy a variety of honeys, paired delightfully by experts.

 

The adventure continues as you don beekeeper’s attire and visit the apiary. Andrea will guide you through the fascinating and complex world of bees. Embrace the role of a beekeeper for a day, exploring the hive’s products, particularly the royal jelly, which you will help extract in the lab.

 

The day’s journey then takes you to Montecarotto, home of the renowned Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi, one of Italy’s most prestigious white wines. The experience concludes with a dinner, marking the end of an enriching day. The biking itinerary covers about 50 km on white roads that are sometimes paved and generally quiet, offering a serene cycling experience.

Day 4 from Montecarotto to San Marcello

From Montecarotto to San Marcello, your journey winds through the gentle Verdicchio hills of the Jesi castles, a region renowned for a special white wine known for its longevity and ability to improve over time. This wine, with 57 top awards, stands out for the accolades it has received from various guides.

 

In the morning, you embark on a ride through these picturesque hills. Your destination is the family-run Colle Nobile farm, where you meet Giorgio. He will lead you among the olive trees, enhancing your sense of smell and taste, and passionately immersing you in the world of olive oil. Giorgio will guide you through an olive oil tasting, teaching you the techniques and sharing the secrets of this art.

 

After tasting the oils, the journey continues to another place of rare beauty, just one km away. Here, Massimo and Pascale have devoted themselves to sustainable, biodynamic, and biotic viticulture, as well as hospitality in their small agriturismo/osteria. They produce wine in amphorae using an ancient technique dating back over 2,000 years, originally used by the Picenes. The tavern’s dishes incorporate grapes, reductions, and grape jellies that they grow, prepared with ingredients reflecting the cycle of nature. This culinary research merges tradition, authenticity, and seasonality.

 

The time has come for a unique tasting experience. You will enjoy a tasting menu where each wine is thoughtfully paired with a dish from the tavern. The day concludes with an overnight stay at the same accommodation facility.

 

Your ride for the day spans gravel roads and asphalt, covering a total distance of 20 km.

Day 5 from San Marcello to Offagna

Today marks the day dedicated to exploring quaint villages. The adventure begins with San Marcello, a charming little gem just a few kilometers from your accommodation, nestled amidst Verdicchio vineyards.

 

The journey then takes you downhill, across the Esino river, leading into the Land of Castles, and finally arriving in Polverigi. The ancient castle of Polverigi, constructed in the 11th-12th century, features curtain walls, characterizing it not as a traditional castle but more as a fortified village, a common architectural style in the Marche region.

 

Continuing the ride, you’ll ascend and descend through the scenic landscape to reach the enchanting village of Offagna. This village is dominated by its majestic medieval fortress, perched atop a tuff cliff. Here, you’ll have free time to explore the town or to discover essential oils with Sara, located a short distance from the historic center in her specialized company. Before these activities, you’ll have the opportunity to settle into your room and freshen up with a refreshing shower.

 

Dinner is at your leisure, with a variety of restaurants available in the village to choose from.

 

The day’s cycling itinerary covers about 40 km, traversing both white and paved roads with little traffic, offering a serene and picturesque biking experience.

Day 6 from Offagna to Sirolo

The final stage of your journey leads you to the sea of Conero, a beautiful culmination of the trip.

Your destination is the seaside village of Sirolo, nestled on the slopes of Monte Conero. Here, with a comprehensive map in hand, you’ll be equipped with all the necessary information to fully enjoy the enchanting natural park. Sirolo offers a range of experiences to suit every taste, from adventurous to cultural. Among these options, you can choose to:

• Explore the city of Ancona by scooter, a vibrant and historical coastal city.

• Engage in a creative workshop where you’ll make the natural ‘Rosso Tiziano’ color, using it to paint on the Fabrianese paper you created at the beginning of your journey.

• Embark on a kayak excursion to discover the secret beach of the Two Sisters, a stunning and secluded spot accessible only by sea.

The bike itinerary for this segment is about 20 km, traversing both gravel and paved roads, which are generally quiet and offer a peaceful ride. This leg of the journey provides a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the diverse experiences you’ve enjoyed, as you cycle through the scenic landscapes towards the azure waters of the Conero sea.

Day 7 free day

On this day, you have the opportunity to indulge in relaxation, embark on excursions, or enjoy the sea! Let yourself be inspired by our suggestions to fully appreciate this day, with various visits and activities that you can undertake independently.

Among the optional activities we offer are:

A trekking excursion on Mount Conero, allowing you to explore its natural beauty on foot.

An e-bike adventure, providing a unique way to traverse the varied landscapes of Mount Conero.

A horseback ride, offering a serene and picturesque journey through the area’s stunning scenery.

How does the luggage transfer work?

How can I cancel my booking if I have force majeure problems?

 In case of withdrawal from the travel contract, the consumer is required to pay a penalty, calculated based on the number of days remaining until the start of the trip. Penalties vary depending on the notice period: a) withdrawal up to 31 days before the start of the trip: 10% of the total amount b) withdrawal from 30 to 21 days before the start of the trip: 25% of the total amount c) withdrawal from 20 to 11 days before the start of the trip: 50% of the total amount d) withdrawal from 10 to 4 days before the start of

the trip: 75% of the total amount e) withdrawal within 3 days before the start of the trip: 100%.

How can I book and what are the payment conditions?

 To confirm your booking, simply click on book now. Our team will contact you to finalize the booking details according to your needs. To finalize, pay 25% of the package value through a link you will receive by email or WhatsApp. The remaining amount is due 30 days before the departure date. Payment can be made via bank transfer or credit card (we will send you a link via email and WhatsApp).

How can I cancel the reservation if I have major problems?
In case of withdrawal from the travel contract, the consumer is required to pay a penalty, calculated based on the number of days missing at the start of the trip.
